Sir Martin Rees: 50/50 Chance of Humanity Surviving Until the End of the Century

I agree with most everything David Suzuki says except his assessment of the Breton Woods agreement and its 'benevolent' creation of the World Bank and IMF. In fact I view these two entities as deeply insidious. He also treads lightly around Barack "Drone Strike" Obama's deep divergence between campaign rhetoric and actual policy decisions and objectives. He caricatures our great corporate leader as being held hostage to other forces, I am likely going out on a limb here but I am willing to bet that he is not simply held hostage to corporate interests but that the ultimatum given to him is either he cooperates or he and his family don't get a cot in one of the underground facilities when the Shadow Government decides it is time to take the Invoke External Threat formula to its logical conclusion, 9/11 writ large, with the staging of a Fake Alien Invasion to justify a global military response, entailing of course, Global Governance (permanently).

At the root of all of our interrelated crises - social, environmental, energetic and paradigmatic - is a crisis of consciousness. We (some of us, most within the Dominant Culture, guided/driven by ego fortification) believe that we are separate and superior to nature and not fundamentally interconnected with all life, energy, the very cosmos on both a physical and spiritual level. This 'newfound' understanding of the nature of reality has been confirmed both with advanced Quantum Physics and has been long known by many forms of spiritual philosophy (Buddhism, Taoism, Indigenous Wisdom Traditions etc).
