The Source of Synchronicity

Swiss Psychologist Carl Jung taught about Synchronicity, events that seem to be somehow connected but don't seem to be related by a known cause. For instance, Jung wrote about a person recounting a dream that featured a scarab (Egyptian beetle amulet) . As the person continued to recount the dream, Jung walked by a window and noticed a beetle. The event seems to indicate a connection, but there doesn't appear to be a known cause for the 2 events coming together.

But when we add in the mind's relation to reality, synchronicity has an explanation.

The world unfolds according to mind. That which we experience is mind experiencing mind.

Most of us believe that the world occurs outside of our mind.

But the world is mind. The lakes, the earth, our loved ones, ourselves, and all life is mind experiencing this mind.

Our Consciousness is like a projection machine in which the world we experience unfolds according to our level of compassion and understanding. Synchronicity clearly demonstrates the connection of mind with objects.

When we dream it is no surprise that our dreams reflect our emotional states. So in our waking life, reality too reflects our emotional states. But we don't pay attention to it. Instead we are captivated by the movie, but we never delve into the source of the movie.

We cannot escape what we are. The world is constantly reminding us. We are mind experiencing mind and what we experience has everything to do with what we are.

But this is not an attempt to blame somebody for their circumstances. We exist in an interplay of mind that is whole and without borders. We can often not change events, but we can change the way we react to those events.

We can attempt to live a life of Love and Understanding. This Bodhisattva commitment allows us to keep our humanity even when we are faced with the inhumane and brutal.
