Before hearing the following episode of Coast to Coast I was agnostic but leaning toward the affirmative on the existence of ghost phenomena. Not anymore. I don't think the interviewees, GIS, are making this up or faking these examples of EVP. To be honest I felt very childish in that it was difficult for me to sleep after listening to this, not because I thought that where I am sleeping is haunted, just that my previous conception of reality felt thoroughly violated and now how to accommodate the possibility that there are unseen entities all around us.
What do I think? I believe that if our death is overly traumatic, violent or emotional that we can choose to linger around in the physical realm after we depart our failing bodies. How long we choose to do this depends on our level of stubbornness and refusal to accept our demise, we may also attempt to enact some level of vindictiveness in this in-between state, as one of the interviewees whose book later became the source material for the movie 'Ghost' starring Patrick Swayze describes.
In the case of demonic forces, this is something that I am still trying to accept as previously I believed that what we consider to be evil is just something that is untrue, a gross misunderstanding or unconsciousness. Michael Newton, a hypno-therapist who stumbled into past-life regression therapy stated that on the subject of evil entities or demons that Earth is visited by beings from other dimensions whose form of amusement and play approximates our terror and it is only through extensive attempts to make our fear known that they leave us alone. He describes their behavior as not exactly evil, just kind of like a baby mishandling a kitten, they are from another dimension and are unable to empathize with the terror they are causing; to them it is all fun and games.
He also has dealt with subjects who recount having spent time as a ghost in between lives, in one instance a 19th century American woman who was abandoned by her wealthy husband who truly did not want to be married and wanted to experience other women. She spent the remainder of her life at their manor, waiting for him to return. She succumbed to what amounts to the common flu some twenty or so years after he left, her immunity compromised by emotional distress. She continued to remain there after her physical body failed, for another fifty years or so until she got over the abandonment. What she experienced was actually karmic in that her previous life she had done something similar to someone who loved her equally and was still experiencing relationship problems in her current life.
Journey of Souls: Case Studies of Life Between Lives
I highly recommend you read about this case and others yourself. Please, if you're skeptical I invite you to listen to this and form your own conclusion.
Happy Halloween!
