I'm not making any of this up. There have been a plethora of laboratory studies conducted by Dean Radin et al that have shown there to be something going on. Another factor was the more that I recognized and acknowledged the phenomena, the more it manifested. I am describing my personal experience with Psi in the past tense mainly because although I still experience it, it is much less now as I have not been meditating as consistently as I was a few years ago. Mediation is one factor, fear and stress is another. I have been homeless and unemployed from 2010 to 2013 and am still unemployed and living on borrowed time. I believe that when we are under severe stress that we are incapable of manifesting our higher intelligence, including Psi, and drop down to a more Reptilian, survival oriented mind-set. It is a challenge to remain grounded when confronted not only with personal deprivation and impermanence but the broader understanding that our species is confronting extinction with maybe another 100 years left to live, with many saying that we have only until about 2030 or so.
There are also many times that while watching a movie, I was able to anticipate the next scene, and it wasn't based on a logical analysis of the existing setting or scene. For example, when I was attending junior college a friend asked me to accompany her to a movie called Sucker Punch, if you've seen the movie then you may recall one particular scene early on where the main character enters a bar and there is a mafia type character smoking a cigar. There was no indication, no hint whatsoever, that this would be the following scene but at this point I saw a dragon. It was only a few moments later that the mafia boss actually turned into a dragon. You can go back and view the scene for yourself, you have nothing in the scene, no pictures of dragons on walls, nothing, aside from a mafia boss smoking a cigar, to suggest that he would actually turn into a dragon much less that there would be a dragon in the next scene. I had not seen one movie trailer for this movie. There was no dragon on the movie's poster in the theater. And this isn't the only example I can share, these experiences were extremely common. I told my friend that I saw the dragon before actually seeing it but really I was the only one that could confidently revel in this new-found ability to see slightly into the future. I say new-found because I wasn't having these experiences at the intensity or frequency that I now was before experimenting with meditation and practicing Buddhism, and those experiences that I did have I confided in the skeptical approach and rationalized them away as mere coincidence.
Aside from pre-cognition I have also had a few dream events that played out in real life. About a year ago I had a dream that I was trying on hats in front of a mirror, admiring my handsomeness with a few, it was an entirely random dream sequence. Roughly a week later, I was down on Haight Street in San Francisco having some jeans hemmed and stitched and I was told to return in twenty minutes, I went for a walk down the street and next thing you know I was in a hat store. It was only when I was standing in front of the mirror with one of the hats on that I recalled the dream I had a week earlier. I had goose-bumps. The skeptic would argue that motivated to fulfill the dream event I sub-consciously visited the hat store. The fact of the matter is that except for wool caps that I only wear when it is very cold I don't wear hats and had no idea this hat store was even where it was! It was a completely random dream presaging a completely random activity as I never go to hat stores and try on hats. I don't think the dream or the real activity were unrelated. What would Reductionistic Science say of this? Reductionistic Science holds that randomness is responsible for the creation of all the Universe and sentient life. The analogy is that one million chimpanzees typing continuously, randomly, for one million years will eventually type Shakespeare's Hamlet.
On top of pre-cognition and dreams there are a few other instances of Psi that I have personally experienced, and this would be the manipulation or affecting of matter through varied emotional states and feeling the emotional states of others. What I am referring to specifically would be the numerous times that I would have a outburst of anger and my computer would correspondingly lock-up or freeze. It isn't often that my computer has a hiccup of this sort, neither do I frequently experience brief periods of great anger. But these two seem correlated somehow and I am willing to bet that I psychically interfered with the sensitive electrical operations inherent in electronic computing. Other examples of us affecting our environment with our emotions would be a feeling of great peace felt in holy places, churches etc. with the opposite being the feeling one would get in an emergency room or other place of heightened trauma and stress. I also believe that fear and stress accelerate entropy or deterioration of an immediate physical environment, including our physical bodies and that of those around us. This is one reason it is uncomfortable to be around someone resonating deeply in fear or anger, as the old saying goes "they have bad vibes". I also had a heightened sensitivity for the emotions and intent of others and a greater self-awareness of my own emotional states that I am projecting. Kind of like a crude form of telepathy.
Psi abilities differ from person to person, kind of how some people are naturally endowed with certain strengths such as athleticism and or intellectualism. In fact, Psi isn't only the domain of the human animal, all of nature exhibits Psi to some degree. But there does seem to be a correlation between the kind of unique intelligence that Human's exhibit, self-awareness, empathy and a capacity to think-about past, present and future time-frames, and the strength of Psi.
What are the societal implications of Psi? Well, I firmly believe that "The Powers That Be" have been suppressing (water fluoridation, vaccines, GM food etc.) and concealing this ability from us as if we were aware of our true power they would not be able to enslave us to the extent that they have. Because accompanying the acceptance of psychic phenomena is the reality behind it of an interconnected, conscious Universe in which all conscious inhabitants are immortal. That kind of breaks with the world-view they have instilled in us of only having one life to live on a Hobbesian world, "red in tooth and claw". Only a worldview of competitive individualism can keep all of us fighting each other while an extreme minority benefits and lives in a virtual utopia of perceived material wealth. They tell us via cultural programming, also the purview of Reductionistic Science, that psychic phenomena is in the same category as mermaids and unicorns (I can't even say ghosts and extra-terrestrials anymore as those are real). Meanwhile, they were and likely still are using psychics to surveil Russia and everyone else, just look up the Stargate Project.
What does a global culture incorporating psychic reality look like? Possibly not like one headed for Mass Extinction. If scientific studies show that collective prayer can prolong the lives of those suffering from AIDS, it is entirely possible that we may be able to heal our planet in the same manner as is mentioned in this C-Realm podcast with Harry Lowe.
"No problem can be solved with the same consciousness that created it" - Albert Einstein
We aren't going to avert Mass Extinction by recycling and purchasing hybrid cars and solar panels. Its time to come to terms with the failed strategy of solving our myriad, interrelated crises with materialistic solutions. I think this crisis is forcing us to come to terms with our failed world-view, and it is begging us to incorporate science and spirituality. Our very survival depends on our ability to do so.
Those advanced, inter-stellar beings that are visiting us have likely been confronted with similar, life-threatening, evolution-inducing challenges in their past and are a shining example of the successful union of science with spirituality. They have incorporated psychic reality into their culture and technology. They interface psychically with their technology, including their ships. Personally speaking, I likely have stumbled upon this latent ability we have with the aforementioned computer failure episodes. Can we nurture and develop this? The first step is realizing there exists a vast chasm between perceived reality and actual reality.
This is a crisis of consciousness.
Well enough of my personal thoughts and experiences with Psi, if you have any you would like to share please leave a comment. Onto an excellent episode of the Extra Environmentalist with Dean Radin!
P.S. Needless to say I am now meditating twice a day again, fifteen minutes to half an hour in the morning and in the evening before bed.

Society dramatically underestimates human potential, placing our imagination within a limited range of possibilities. What are the psychological limits of our species? Is there reliable scientific evidence of supernormal human capabilities? What areas of scientific study could replace the failing aims of a materialist scientific paradigm? Would compelling evidence for special abilities change our beliefs and institutions?
In Extraenvironmentalist #68 we speak with Dean Radin about his new book Supernormal and his decades of research into telepathy, precognition, clairvoyance for our 2013 Halloween Special. We ask Dr. Radin if the stories of ancient yogis were exaggerated superstitions or if they may have some basis in reality. Dean describes his process for studying controversial phenomena and how he is working to build a reliable non-materialist scientific process.
