Koch Brothers: "We are the 1%" (Updated 25 Sept.)

(Update) Feeling humorous, I succeeded in copying and pasting the following into a review of "Atlas Shrugged" the movie on amazon.com, and amazingly it was approved. Go here to see the review in context with the others. Its actually quite interesting, from a purely ethnographical perspective, to read the other positive reviews and to reflect as to how many of the reviewers are actually acting (sometimes voting, in the elections that aren't fraught with voter fraud, 2004 Florida recount anyone?) against their own interests and how easily manipulable people can be when you add a little sodium fluoride to their drinking water and bombard them from the cradle on with cultural programming via television and otherwise.

Review in isolation:

Praise the Great Ones!

"We celebrate inequality!" "We love that young, chronically unemployed and homeless combat veterans continue to live in squalor, so that we can have more perceived material wealth than is necessary for well-being!" We seek to perpetuate a culture of domination and exploitation that only we benefit from!" "The Invisible Hand of the Free-Market will rain down its blessings on an extreme minority of the species, particularly those with a propensity to defend their "Freedom and Liberty" to exploit others with violence and who are the descendants of plantation slave owners and who are naturally inclined towards apathy!" "We will continue to attempt to justify this insanity, the wanton unnecessary suffering of not only Humanity but other dwindling forms of life on this planet, with allusions to legitimacy through mysticism; that those who are committing the violence are sovereign monarchs, not unlike a Protestant Jesus or a Tribal War Chief. And most importantly, that those who continue to perpetuate the imbalance: social, economic and ecological ("Go forth and multiply, Man (White) has dominion over the Earth and all that walketh upon it") continue to be Anglo-European, as we possess superior genetic traits as evidenced by our privileged position in global civilization, and most importantly, because the two Great Ones, Jesus of Nazareth and 9/11 Mastermind Dick Cheney are white! "All hail the Great Ones!" "Prepare for the Apocalypse!" "Our mission of perpetuating suffering is almost complete, we (the white Christians) will be saved from the Nuclear Conflagration that we will initiate!" We will be beamed up in rainbows to our rightful place in the big white castle of Heaven where Jesus Christ of Nazareth, Ayn Rand, Milton Friedman, Ronald Reagan await with love and blessings and where everyone is a Corporate Master of a Wall-Mart and has negro slaves at their beck and call!

B. Emp says:
Just so you know, Ayn Rand was not an Anglo Saxon, she was born a Russian Jew. And she hated relegion, condeming all forms of it in her philosiphy. She also wouldn't be caught dead with Ronald Reagan, the last thing she ever wrote was a letter discouraging her followers from voting for him because he combined religion and government. She was Pro-Choice before it was cool and even though she personally disagreed with homosexuality, she advocated the repeal of all laws against it. She beleived the the greatest minority was not African- Americans or Hispanics or Asians, but the individual.

Nobody Owns You
And Nobody Owes You

Thanks for the information. While this is true, she has influenced the formation and introduction of Free-Market theology championed by Milton Friedman then (and Paul Ryan now) which the Evangelicals grabbed onto with vigor as it confirmed their particular brand of Prosperity Theology, that being rich at the expense of others was because you were being rewarded by God.

Benjamin Netanyahu is also a Jew, but there is some solid parallelism between Ultra-Nationalist Zionism and Neo-Conservatism with an Evangelical tinge if you haven't already noticed.

It is true that this isn't exactly a matter of ethnicity, but of ideology, of consciousness. Religion should play NO PART in the socio-political direction of a country. I believe Thomas Jefferson got this right, I think he also got the belief that we need a revolution every now and then right as well, I can see no other way to reset the game board at this point (Citizens United Ruling, NDAA, perennial "War on Terror") than Full Spectrum Revolution (peaceful and otherwise).

FYI, I am an Anglo-European Combat Veteran (Honorable), 1997-2005 U.S. Army, Operation Enduring Freedom 2004-2005. I am DISGUSTED with the world that we have inherited from those who benefited from Reaganomics. WHAT A DISASTER. (1% owning 99% of wealth is not hyperbole)

GET MONEY OUT OF POLITICS AND GET AMERICA OUT OF THE WORLDS AFFAIRS. THE "AMERICAN WAY" IS NOT GOD's GIFT TO HUMANITY. ALL EMPIRES COLLAPSE. Since Bush's Doctrine of Preemption is all the craze as of late, why don't we "preempt" the collapse of the American Empire by culling the status-quo and equitably redistributing while simultaneously withdrawing our tentacles abroad and doing a little nation building right here at home. Won't happen peacefully! The 1% owns the Congress, the Judiciary and the Executive Branch (painfully obvious).

Koch brothers' free-market group plan anti-Occupy rally in New York

Americans for Prosperity to gather in Manhattan on Thursday to 'stand up to these extremists who despise free enterprise'

An activist group funded by the billionaire Koch brothers is planning a rally in New York on Thursday to "stand up to Occupy Wall Streetextremists".
Americans for Prosperity will gather at the Rockefeller Center in midtown Manhattan to demonstrate against Occupy protesters and Barack Obama's handling of the economy.
"The Occupy Wall Street crowd is nothing but a fringe element of malcontents bent on mayhem and destruction," said Steve Lonegan, Americans for Prosperity's New Jersey state director.
"These are people who despise free enterprise. They are not attacking Wall Street. They are attacking the very freedoms that everyday Americans cherish to pursue their own dreams and succeed."
Lonegan added that it was "time that someone stood up to the Occupy Wall Street mob".
The rally, announced on Wednesday, is part of Americans for Prosperity's "Failing Agenda" bus tour across the US. The non-profit organisation has three buses crossing the US, drawing attention to what it sees as Obama's failings on the economy.
The specific focus on Occupy Wall Street comes after the movementcelebrated its first anniversary on Monday, although the occasion was marred by close to 200 arrests across New York.
David and Charles Koch have poured money into Americans for Prosperity, which is tied to the Tea Party movement and has a focus on small government and low taxes.
Although Americans for Prosperity says it "does not expressly advocate for the success or defeat of any candidate for public office", the organisation has run adverts targeting Obama. Mitt Romney attended a fundraiser held by the Kochs this summer.
A spokesman for Americans for Prosperity would not predict how many people might attend the rally at the Rockefeller, but the group's website claims to be "more than two million activists strong" across the country. The group has chapters in 34 states, according to its press release. Attendees will listen to speeches from Tim Phillips, the president of Americans for Prosperity, Lonegan and others.
"What the American people are really worried about is President Obama's failing agenda," Lonegan said.
"They are worried about a failing agenda that is saddling future generations of Americans with trillions of dollars of debt and leaving them with a bleak future. They are worried about the economic destruction President Obama's policies have had on the economy and on job creation."
Bill Dobbs, an Occupy Wall Street activist who attended the movement's anniversary event on Monday, described the rally as "an interesting development".
"But the rich want almost everything, they'd like to take just about everything in sight," he said. "The 1% must be getting desperate to put their supporters out on the street."
